IAM 751 president to new CEO: Invest in workforce

Holden 4cSEATTLE –Jon Holden, the President and Directing Business Representative of Machinists Union District Lodge 751, had the following statement after the Boeing Co. announced that Dennis Muilenburg would take over as the company’s chief executive officer on July 1:

“CEOs come and CEOs go, but District 751 Machinists have been the driving force behind Boeing’s success for the past 80 years, and that hasn’t changed.

“We welcome Boeing’s announcement that Dennis Muilenburg is taking over as CEO and encourage him to invest in the workforce and recognize the value of each and every employee at the Boeing Co.”

Originally formed in 1935 to represent hourly workers at Boeing, District Lodge 751 of the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers now represents nearly 34,000 working men and women at 52 employers across Washington and California, including more than 30,000 Boeing workers in Puget Sound.
