Local 751-C sets date for charity poker tournament
AUBURN — Machinists Union Local Lodge 751-C‘s next charity poker tournament promises to be a fun deal.
The lodge will hold its next All in for Guide Dogs Hold ‘Em Tournament on Saturday, May 20, at the Muckleshoot Casino, 2402 Auburn Way S. in Auburn. Registration will start at 5 p.m. and the tournament will run from 6 to 11 p.m.
Registration costs $100 per player. There will be a $3,500 payout for the top 10 players at the final table. Flyers with registration information are available from all Machinists Union District Lodge 751 union halls in Puget Sound.
All proceeds from the tournament will go to Guide Dogs of America, a registered 501(c)(3) charity that provides service dogs and training in their use free of charge to people who are blind or have impaired vision from across the United States and Canada.
Local 751-C is affiliated with IAM District 751, which is one of the leading fundraisers for Guide Dogs of America. Over the past eight years, the union has raised nearly $2.3 million for the charity.
Originally formed in 1935 by hourly workers at the Boeing Co., District Lodge 751 of the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers now represents nearly 31,000 working men and women at 53 employers across Washington and California.
