Fun deal: Machinists plan charity poker tournament
AUBURN — Machinists Union Local Lodge 751-C‘s fourth charity poker tournament promises to be a fun deal.
The lodge’s next Guide Dogs of America Hold ‘Em Tournament will be Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Muckleshoot Casino in Auburn. Registration will start at 5:30 p.m. and the tournament will run from 6 to 11 p.m.
Registration will cost $100 per player. There will be a $3,500 payout to the top 10 players at the final table.
All proceeds will from the tournament will go to Guide Dogs of America, a registered 501(c)(3) charity that provides service dogs and training in their use free of charge to people who are blind or have impaired vision from across the United States and Canada.
Local 751-C is affiliated with Machinists Union District Lodge 751, which is one of the top fundraisers for Guide Dogs of America. Over the past seven years, the union has raised more than $2 million for the charity.
Originally formed in 1935 by hourly workers at the Boeing Co., District Lodge 751 of the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers now represents nearly 32,000 working men and women at 53 employers across Washington and California.
