Aerospace Machinists elect Mullen as vice president

Mullen 4cSEATTLE — Les Mullen has been elected as vice president of Machinists Union District Lodge 751.

Mullen received 64 percent of the votes cast in a seven-way election held July 22.

As district vice president, his main duty will be to act as chairman of the union’s District Council meetings when District President Jon Holden is not available.

Mullen, a 61-year-old Everett resident, is a program coordinator with IAM/Boeing Joint Programs in Everett. He previously worked on the 777 wing line in the Boeing Co.’s Everett factory. He also serves as president of Machinists Union Local Lodge 751-A.

Originally formed in 1935 to represent hourly workers at Boeing, District Lodge 751 of the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers now represents nearly 34,000 working men and women at 52 employers across Washington and California.
