IAM 751 Machinists plan charity sporting clays shoot
PUYALLUP — Machinists Union Local Lodge 751-C will host its third annual sporting clays shoot fundraiser to benefit Guide Dogs of America, with the support of Scott Wealth Management Group.
The “Bucks 4 Pups” shoot will be May 2 at the Sumner Sportsmen’s Association, 15711 96th St. E., Puyallup. Club gates will open at 8 a.m. that Saturday for registration. There will be an orientation and safety training session at 9 a.m., with shooting starting at 10. First-time shooters are welcome and there will be basic sporting clays safety and instruction available.
The cost to enter is $190 per shooter, or $140 for shooters under 18. The field will be limited to 100 competitors, who will each fire at 100 report-pair targets. Trophies will be awarded to the top teams and top individual shooters. Breakfast, coffee and donuts and lunch all are provided, along with ammunition and targets.

All proceeds will go to Guide Dogs of America, the California-based charity that provides service dogs and training in their use free of charge to people who are blind or have impaired vision from across the United States and Canada.
Local 751-C is affiliated with Machinists Union District Lodge 751, which is the No. 1 fundraiser across North America for Guide Dogs of America. Over the past six years, District 751 has raised more than $1.8 million for the charity.
This is the third year in a row that Local 751-C has hosted a sporting clays shoot to benefit the charity. Last year’s event raised more than $16,000.
