Machinists: Murray’s for jobs, Dino’s for … what?
Leadership of Machinists District Lodge 751 responded sharply today after Washington state Republicans put out an online ad that suggested Sen. Patty Murray has not been an advocate for aerospace jobs in Washington.
“The truth is Sen. Murray has fought for our jobs,” the union said. “If it wasn’t for her and Congressman Norm Dicks, Airbus would be building our tankers in Europe by now.
“Where’s Rossi been on that?”
The Machinists went on to call Sen. Murray “a leader who pulled together a business, labor and government coalition to fight for the tanker. We noticed that Dino didn’t help us.”
That could be, the union suggested, because Rossi was “busy courting endorsements from Jim DeMint in South Carolina, who was one of the major players behind the scenes who helped convince Boeing’s Chicago gang to take our 787 jobs to Charleston.”
The contrast couldn’t be more clear, the Machinists said: “Murray fights for Boeing jobs in Washington, while Dino gets help from those who steal jobs with tax handouts. Patty’s for jobs, and as best we can tell, Dino’s for corporate welfare.”
